  12. I recently learned about these insects from an on-line friend. They aren't bees, but flies. You can tell by the big fly-like eyes they have. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoverfly .. They are called Flower Flies of Hover flies or syrphid flies. They feed on nectar or pollen and look like bees to scare a predator away. Some of large and some are very tiny.... Michelle

  14. I thought they were bees sure look like the same we have in Canada. Ours are in a hive.

    We call them humming bees. Many people get stung by them. Let me tell you. Ouch!
